2 15's To Go With Orion 2500d

I have an Orion 2500d and I'm looking for 2 15's that would match this amp and give me a noticable gain in output over my previous setup which was an '04 RE 15" XXX running off of a Hifonics 1500. My ideal set up would be to find a sub that is comparable to the old XXX and purchase two of them to run off the Orion. I drive a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee so I should be able to fit 2 15's no problem. Budget is around $900, not for each sub but for 2.

I've been reading a lot about FI Q's lately but my only concern with them is if it would give me the output im looking for. Again I'm looking for the output of something along the lines of 2 old xxx's, but that only need around 1250watts. Would 2 15" mags give me this? What about the new RE MX's? All opinions are appreciated. Hopefully I've provided enough info so you guys can give me some suggestions.

The Q and mag are going to do the same thing for you, they are pretty much identical measurement wise and performance wise (NOT everyone will tell you they sound the same... those people still don't realize its their box, not the driver //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif SHHHHH don't tell, its a secret!!!! KEEP IT ON THE D.L. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

ANYway....

The Mag and Q will give you a **** load of output, as much if not more than the RE because of the non-lossy XBL motor which will have higher linear ability over the mag and q, but its little spider aint helping.... which leads us to the NEW xxx which fixed that and it also a lossy motor two but is uses a dual coil (stolen idea from JBL) opposed to a cutout gap. Anyway i'm off track.... getting back to it

If you're worried about output, grab the BTLs, TC-3000's, MTX 9500, DD9500 or audio q equiv. or some something else with more motor than teh mag or Q. These speakers will be more money, but thats what you pay for.

As far as the RE MX and its deal, I'm not liking what I see. On paper it looks like a real step above the rest.. NEO motor 4" VC etc etc. its like HOLY CRAP THIS THING IS GONNA ROX0rZ! but then you look at the BL and DCR and what the ****... its weaker than an RE SX!!! Neo is expensive and I'm guessing RE used it here more of a marketing concept rather than actually using enough to make a difference. (that’s just my take.. who knows….bottom line is that is weak sauce for a non-lossy motor) They sorta ****ed it up imo and there is no point in using a 4" vc with that kinda of motor.. total waste.

Thanks for the input so far. Im not sure of an exact DB I would like to hit, I never got my last xxx metered, so I dont really have a reference, all I know is I would like to have a noticable increase in output, and I imagine by upgrading to 2 15's and more power then I will get more ouput, but to give you guys a reference of what I'm looking for, I would like something around the output as if I had 2 15" old xxx's.

I would guess around 148dB's, I would love to hit 150 but I know this is harder than everyone thinks, so I dont want to get too ahead of myself.

Would the 2 sx's get me close to this? So far im leaning towards the Q's, Mags, or SX's, Im not really a fan of going with the mainstream stuff, no offense to kicker or mtx.

^ Dont think my electrical could handle that right now.

Yeah Im leaning towards Q's or Mags, and i have searched and its just confusing as hell bc ppl try to say there is no difference, then others say they are totally different, and everybody thinks they are right. Can anybody point me to someone who has had experience with both so I can get a valid opinion? I'm really favoring the Q's right now bc of the price, its really attractive, but i havent heard much about the sq of the sub, so im a little worried. I know its all subjective but some opinions would be nice.
