2 15" L7's not loud enough!!

well I personally dont think your box is to big. Kicker reccommends 4.5 cubes for 1 L7 15....

If your crossover is set correctly, and your box is built even fairly well it SHOULD hammer, I'd suggest a higher tune.... tune to 40hz and that box will run you outta there.... also MORE power,

that planet audio is doing 2200 (MAYBE)(i've been told planet audio is overrated, don't flame cause I don't know) @ 14.4 so your giving each sub MAX (maybe) 900 - 1100 watts... per sub...

more power, higher tune = omfgosh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I just think your box is a too little big.
So, if I were to make a ported enclosure 6.8 cu ft 31hz with 130 sq in of port.....would I get really good low frequency extention with a box this much smaller? I have heard many setups and I think they all sound better in a trunk than in a SUV. I heard 2 15" cvr's off an 800.2 in a sealed box and it seemed to take the breath outa me. I guess all i can do is make a different box and test it. Thanks for your help

not enough port area either, you're starving them.
I seriously dont get the not enough port area thing. I know I dont have much at all, but does it make the subs louder? I know most people have so much area to prevent port noise.......but does it play a role in how loud the sub/subs will actually get?

dude you want louder tune higher give it more power... low(ish) tune = car shaking... steering wheel bouncing... high(ish) tune = heard blocks away = to loud in your car

plus with lower tune you need more power to get loud... takes more power to produce low freq than higher ones ( 50hz @ 140db is louder to the ear than 20hz @ 140db)

I listen to rap.....all rap. I have tuned high before with 2 12" L7s and didnt get great frequency response much below that......40 hz tune. For some reason.......it seems to take more power from my electrical when the higher notes hit. 2000 watts should be plenty for these subs; they should also be much louder than they currently are. My 2 12" L7's on a 800 watt concept were kinda close to the output of these.

Yea, theres definately something wrong. I heard 2 L715s sealed in some guys car........probably the secondg loudest setup ive heard(DD anyway), the loudest woudl have to be 4 15" juggs. It literally shook the seats at least 2 inches.

lower tuning is louder to the ear.
? huh? thats a joke right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

ok, take a low tuned sub 35hz your telling me the sub tuned LOWER will be LOUDER? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

If that's not a joke and your really serious, I'm going to bed, cause that has got to be the I've ever heard....

Phase switch....or wiring out of phase? I checked the wiring and all is good. I have my switch set to 180 right now......which is were it sounds better/louder. I should get a 9 volt battery out and test the leads tomorrow to double check.
