I have two 2004 dual 4 ohm 15" kicker L7's. I also have a planet audio TT-2250D amp. They are in a 9.5 cubic foot net box and its ported to 35 hz. It's all in a 1996 GMC Jimmy. They are ran in parallel to a 1 ohm load and the amp puts out around 2000 watts or so. I set the gain with the gain setting tutorial and my 2 10 inch CVR's were louder.....so i decided to set it by ear. They do get loud......but maybe im doing something wrong, or maybe im half deaf and dont know it.

My voltage meter drops down to like 12 volts when the bass hits real hard. I have done the big three upgrade and I have a new battery and alternator.....all stock(100 amp alt). I know i should get a bigger one, but for right now I cant afford it. I guess i was expecting it to hit extremly hard and it to nearly take the breath outa ya.....but for some reason it doesnt.

I have 4 gauge power and ground....as recommended from the manual. I have a maxi fuse block with a 100 amp maxi fuse. Amp pulls 175 amps.....currently waiting for a bigger fuse block. Anyone know what im doing wrong?

Either something in your install is wrong or you are at least half deaf //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.

have a friend come and listen to it, not to sound liek an *** but you might be a litle deaf from this thing.

if there really is a problem the first thing id do is to upgrade that 4 gauge to some 1/0

Just bring it on down to polk county and I'll tell ya whats wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. BTW there's a guy on here.. whom I don't know. I believe his name is warbleed(could be wrong), and he's from ames. Anyways he knows a crap load man, if ya can't figure it out I'd go to him before I went anywhere. Maybe he'll have time to help ya in person if ya wanna make the drive.

xover, ssf settings?
Crossover is set to 80 on my HU and about 70 on my amp. SSf is actually off because I just ported the box tonight....was sealed. It did get noticibly louder at higher frequencys after i ported it. I'll set the SSF tomorrow to about 26.

I had a few people sit in it and they did think it was loud, But 2 15" L7's should get REAL loud off of 2000 watts. Maybe i need a bigger box......maybe my current is dropping so low that the amp is only pushing a little over 1000 watts considering the power supply is regulated and puts out full power at 14.4.

I have actually been on this forum for almost 3 years just lurking and reading and constantly learning. I dont post much, mainly read.....but I have seen warbleed around on here. I have also seen zane, im pretty sure Zanes from cedar rapids. I live about 2 hours away from either one. Maybe it's just me......but I wanted the L7's to rip me apart. I read that 1 guy on here did a 146 with 1 15.......I dont even think i'm close to that.

I would've done 6.8cF @ 31Hz with 130"sq. of port.

Your box sounds humungous.
I seen that u recommended that exact some box to someone on here with the same subs. Wouldnt a smaller box be more peaky? My box is quite big.....but kicker does recommend 4.5 a piece for street bass......and 6 cubes for SPL/DEEP. Would the smaller box yield better performance?

Yep, something is wrong, 1 15" was enough to make people sick in my car. Check your ground, your RCA gain settings... the high input attenuation switch... Are the subs broken in? L7's take awhile before they will slam in a ported box, when they are new.

Did you break in your Kickers?

yeah, it was for iceteebone.
smaller box may handle the power a little better. Also with your xover set to 80Hz, the output of the smaller box may suit you more.
I have never heard anything like that before...where can I learn stuff like that to find the best box for my sub and I //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif.

It gets loud....theres no doubt about that. It drops my rear view and shakes my dash.....I actually didnt break them in......didnt feel the need. It just doesnt get as loud as I thought. Ground is good......RCA's seem to put out 2 volts....Kenwood doesnt supply the voltage from my inputs so I measured them with my DMM. The high input ATT switch?.....what exactly would that be?

I actually like the lows a little better and was thinking of making my aero ports longer to tune lower. My xover is actually set to 70 on my amp and to 80 on the head unit just in case the amps xover wasnt fully accurate. I'm thinking that maybe im just not getting enough power from my elecrical or maybe my HU is sending a clipped signal......been having problems with my HU latley. I did cheack the coils and they read 1.3 in parallel.....so they are good.
