2 15" Fi SSD's + ED NINe.1 Opinions...

I have been thinking again lately about a new setup, since I have never used Fi im asking you guys for help. Thanks in advance for the opinions and suggestions.

I was thinking about doing 2 15" Fi SSD subs in a 7-8Cf box tuned at 32hz, running both subs off an ED NINe.1. I know these subs will take more that the power the NINe.1 has to offer but will they sound good off this power? They should see about 700watts a piece. Also, opinions on the copper coil. I have heard they are better for the low end response, but the higher end sucks.

Thanks...

loved my nine.1... that said, prepare for mass flamage.

you're right they'll take more power than that. but they'll sound fine as long as you send them clean power. if you push it to hard and clip the amp, it wont sound quite so good and you might blow your subs.

sure it will, just that they'll take more power. if you clip the amp, bad things will happen. set your gains right and don't push past those limits you set for yourself.

why do you want the nine.1 if you know your subs will take more?

in your shoes i'd use the nine.1 for now, put it up for sale on here and make sure to send your subs clean power until you get rid of the amp, then upgrade. most any sub will take more than its rated for as long as its clean power.

I have two nine.1s and I love them. the fan on one of them makes a bit of noise but in a trunk you wouldn't hear it. they are rated at 12.8 volts i think and with a strong electrical you should be able to get 1500 out of them.

I ran my 2 w/ copper coils off just 900 watts total before I got my new amp..And I will tell you...They were still loud and LOW! 1400 should be plenty enough..

And the copper coils don't lack high end.....And they sound GREAT to be as loud as they are.. A hell of a lot better than any other loud system I have heard around here..They keep up with double kicks easy, not sloppy like my old L7.. I didn't realize how bad my L7 really sounded until I got these dudes...I am sure I could meter higher if I redid my box, but I wanted a loud and LOW daily driver..And I think I made the perfect choice!

If i were you, i'd get the copper coils..I mean, you can't tell it by my TL score, but the output of these things below 35hz is awesome.
