2 12" vs 4 8"

The mounting depth on those r small enough to fit with out raisimg the seat and can possibly get away with 1 cubft for the ported that is recomended would u say those 2 10 would be better than 4 sa8s ?

I dont think u have room for 4 sa8s ported ..my buddy ran 4 sa8s in his ranger amd the box was wayy to big to fit under a crew cab seat

Ur right would need to go with the sd models to try and even port the 8" ill probably be making my own box so i can always posibly push a littletowards front of seats more

I would give you different advice for sure...and this is why:

Alpine Type R 8:

FS 40hz-42hz(depending on model)

XMAX 12mm

SD 201cm2 - total surface area x4 subs=804cm2

ported enclosure .55 cubes @37hz - net volume x4 subs 2.2cubes

Alpine Type R 12 shallow:

FS 32hz

XMAX 15mm

SD 490cm2 - total surface area x2 subs 980cm2

ported enclosure 1 cube @ 33hz - net volume x2 subs 2cubes

So...according to the #'s the Type R thins can dig deeper, have more output, and require a smaller box than 4 Type R 8's. What's more is the Type R thins are an underhung design(more SQ oriented) and the Type R 8's are overhung.

The Type R thins win in every category in my opinion. Just my 2cents.
