My current set up is (1) 15" nightshade off a 3000d @ 1 ohm. So 3000 watts daily. I know it handles the power easily, but with the warmer weather comin I am afraid I am going to hurt it because I like to ride windows down music up. Should I get the (2) 12"s or do you think I'm good with my current set up?Obviously (2) 12" subs would be more cone area than (1) 15" sub, so that alone would get me louder. I am mainly concerned about running 3000 watts to this sub to much and frying it!!

Generally......?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
It depends on the car and box design. There's a good possibility that 2 12's will work better in your truck since your cargo area is small, but I wouldn't guarantee it. As for my truck, I prefer a single 15 over 2 12's.

The box design would hopefully come from a good friend by the name of ben.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

What is the recommended volume of a ported enclosure for a 12" nightshade?

Come out here next weekend and we'll get to work. I need somebody to motivate me.

I'm working on it now, and am not happy with it so far. Hopefully I can figure it out because I have single 15's nearly mastered.
I'm going to be working on it over my spring break. I don't have anything mastered //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

My resonant frequency in my truck was low. We tested with a sealed box. hehehe.

I dont think I could properly run an 18" or I would love to!
It's fun man.

Jacob told me if you're running over 1500w stick with around 1.5 cubes. That was on the stock Nightshade though, not sure if you're planning on using the beefed up ones.
