hey guys I'm thinking of getting these subs and I don't know what kind of amp I should use. I'm also going to put in 2 4" tweeters and 2 6x9s and i don't know if i need a separate amp for those too. Do I match the RMS ratings? Both subs are 800w Rms together, so should I get exactly that or try to get a little better? Also anyone have experience with These subs? I just wanna be louder than my friends p1 punches.

You will want a seperate amp for the tweets and the 6x9's. You dont have to mach the rms on those subs when my brother had his he pushed 600 to them and they would rock all day long. A good amp for the subs would be a Kicker 850.2 or 1000d. As far as beatin the P1's you will more than out-do them.

nice, I went to a few shows in New Bedford @ Auto Hi-Lites...

the comp VR's will sound good with 300-500w each, port them and you will probably knock the P1's out the frame! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

there are some shows in your area coming up, get the stereo and get to the shows!

say I got a 1000w rms amp for them which is what I'm looking at, this wouldn't blow the speakers with too much power? If you haven't noticed I'm new at this. BTW I have them In a nice ported box because I hear they hit harder

My friend helped me build the box, he's fairly good at this but I just wanted another persons opinion on the amps and such

Which amp because if you look around, you'll find a lot of amps don't put out the power they say they do.

Anyways, you should be fine with a 1k amp I had 888 (Kicker 750zx) to them and would crank it all the way up and they were fine.

so you have the subs and box, and if the box specs are done right why not put a 1kw amp on them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif make sure you have an amp with a subsonic filter so you dont smoke them by playing below tuning of the box and the subs capabilities.

the amp is a kicker zx1000.1, and I'm also going to get some cheap 300w rms amp for the tweeters and 6x9s. For tweeters and 6x9s should I get another mono amp or a 2 channel one? And should I keep the volume down on the subs for the first day or two to work them in?

nice screen name by the way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ;)

p.s. I have four CVR 12's right now, two more coming soon through a trade, and who knows maybe two more? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Is this a blue or blue/white wire from the Kenwood? The ACC wire is red and although that should turn on the amp, it is not the prefered wiring...
