2 10's or 1 15"???

i could see how that is possible, same brand/model, the 15 will be able to go lower without bottoming out, low notes on the 10's would be different

Still not true at all.

You can play a 10hz tone through either of them.

15's aren't "less" easy to bottom out. Either you send to much power to them and exceed their mechanical limits, or you don't. If you do, then it's the users fault the subwoofer bottomed out and not the subwoofer's.

However, in this instance a single 15 would be the better choice. More displacement than a pair of 10's.
