I will be running the old chrome RF 1100a2 bridged at 4ohms. will these subs handle it? Should I try to run this am at 2 ohms? They are going under the seat of my silverado in about 2^3 sealed. I am thinking about buying dual 4 ohm subs to achieve the 4ohm load at the amp. Am i on the right track? I guess I could also buy dual 2ohm subs and run them stereo, but is that smart?

TIA for the help

You would want dual 4 ohm if you're using two. Whether you bridge it or not, you would need dual 4 ohm subs to get the best performance out of the amp. Dual 4 ohm subs either wire in stereo to 2 ohms (each sub's voice coils wired in parallel) each channel or they wire together in series/parallel to get 4 ohms so you can bridge it. Bridging is the way to go.

That is a serious amp if it's the one I'm thinking of and how the subs will handle it is up to you and the enclosure they're in.

Yea I figured the dual 4s would be the way to go. the enclosure is custom and very solid. Each sub w/ displacement will see about .90.

Here is the manual on the amp. I most likely will keep the gains very low.

the rest of the system consists of a matching chrome 400.4 that will be bridged stereo to an old school pair of a/d/s 6.5" seprates in the kicks.

Any other suggestions/comments?

Other subwoofers I am considering were the JLw3, IDQ, or the MMATS p3.0 or 2.5 (any comments on these)

1400watts at 4ohms huh, a pair of SEs should eat that. ive had 8-900watts on my ported 15"SE and it bottemed out befor i would smell voice coil. i would say sealed, those subs should take the extra 100 or so watts there "rated" for
