2.1 Computer Speakers

I know it has been asked before, but the usual response is that all computer speakers **** and I would be better off building my own.

However, I do not really want to do that.

Heres the deal. Right now I am using an about 5 year old 4.1 Altec Lansing speaker system (and only using the front 2 speakers), and it sounds fine to me, at least quality wise. There is only one problem. This system has a 4 inch subwoofer powered by 20 watts believe. It is barely audible if that.

I am looking for a new 2.1 system that has good, loud bass. I know some people have mentioned the Logitech Z-2300 or Klipsch Promedia 2.1 . Anyone have any other suggestions or any opinions on what the best 2.1 w/ bass is?

Thanks.

my klipsch promedia 5.1 blows me away everytime i crank it , i would imagine a 2.1 would suit you well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Unless you only want 2.1, i have a 5.1 on ebay BNIB for probably not much above if at all what your looking to spend. Let me know.

Well right now, it seems the Logitech Z-2300 and the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 are the best bets... Anyone have any idea which is better?

Also, to whoever posted about the 5.1, Im basically looking to spend as little as possible, and will probably end up buying whatever I get off of ebay....

Computer subwoofers produce midbass, not real bass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
The Logitech systems tend to have loud subwoofers, but I think they sound like shit, personally ...

Klipsche tends to have better sound quality ...

I blew a logitech sub playing Quake, I don't like products that fail.

I'm not the loud-blasting-music type (Except in the car) either, so there's no excuse. Logitech = lousy audio.

The promedia 2.1 would have been my next choice but i picked up the 5.1 for way cheap used off this site here, dual 8" sub sounds pretty good, fills my room up decently.

Pretty much agree with all that there.....
