A lot of people paid much more than a grand each for their subs. TC, and others are in the same price range and the dd z series are over twice that. most decent to good subs are 500 a pop and alot of people have either 2 or 4 of those so it all comes down to the best use of space and power, but at a grand for a sub I think alot of people spend more on caps and head units that make much less difference in the final output and sound of a system.
