1x600 or 2x300?

im gonna have to say monoblock, I had a 300x2rms TMA, and it sounded like shit... then I got the 500.1 the next day and hit harder than ever... so I'd say monoblock just from my expierence

1 at 600 cuz 2 monoblocks would make u either have to strap them (which is ok..)

but you would prolly save some money with the 1 600 and more room in ur car... wat amps are u lookin at?

Whatever i can get ahold of. Currently running 2 JL12W3v2's in a 1.25 cube sealed box for each sub.

Was thinking a xenon 600.1, Hifonics BXI 606, JBL GTO 601.1....pretty much whatever i can get for less then $200. Have a baby on the way and so i need to get something quick.

I have a lead on a local guy with the jbl amp that is willing to let me pay it out. But i was just curious what configuration would be better.

Xenon line is made by Phoenix Gold. The 600.1 is supposed to be a great amp. I've never used one personally, but everything I've read from people who have them they rave about them. Pretty underrated, too. Most of the birthsheets I've seen show them putting out around 800 watts. The fact that they're rated at the same power from 1-4 ohms makes them versatile, also. They're getting tougher to find on Ebay, but keep an eye on the for sale section.

i personally have heard good things about hifonics and jbl, not experienced xenon sounds like an off brand GL
Never heard of Phoenix Gold?? They've been around for quite a few years and aren't particularly an underground brand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

dyabolical ~ going with a single monoblock that will give you the power level you're after will both likely be cheaper than two smaller monoblocks as well as taking up less real estate in your ride to install them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Assuming you have 2 subwoofers, both options would be exactly the same.
...as long as you set the gains properly.

if you have two amps, two subs, and a shared chamber, you could get some negative effects of not setting the gains equal. (correct me if i'm wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)

i'd suggest a single amp to save space, and make the install easier

also, the x600.1 is a great amp and will do 800W+ at 1 thru 4 ohms.

Well, after spending close to $100 on paint for the nursery, $500 or so on a crib, changing table, and armoir for the baby clothes, toys.....car seats....i am dead flat broke.

I have the box built...amp rack built....subs IN the box...box IN the truck....now i just lack the amp.

Right now i am running the 12's off of a (don't laugh) Road gear 200 watt amp. What is funny, the amp is rated for 200 watts MAX at 4 ohm. But i have my 12's wired in 2 ohm...amazingly they produce a relatively nice sound for being so grossly under powered. But the downside is i can only run them at half volume for a few minutes before it shuts down in thermal mode.

I make decent money for an apprentice electrician, but i had such exhorbent expenses lately that i had to bank out a loan from my boss to cover a few bills.

So yeah, i have extra cash coming in after bills now, but it is in the form of 20 or 30 a week. And i hate having to save up. I end up just blowing it.

Now if i HAD the amp and was making payments, it would be a completely different story.

But enough blabbering, back to more painting of the baby's room.

They would have to be set idiotically different for it to cause any major issues.

Depending on what impedance your subwoofers are, Profile has some amplifiers that should give you the power you need for under $150 shipped.

JL 12W3v2-D2, duel 2 ohm.

So if i run them from a mono block, 2 ohm is my only option because i dont see .5 ohm as a viable daily driver option. Right now i am just looking for something more reliable then that cheap *** road gear.

So if what i get next is a sucky brand but still puts out decent power, then i will get it. This is just a temporary thing for now.

Profile amps as in....
