what's the difference in running your amp at 1 ohm or 2 ohms? amp being 1 & 2 ohm stable. besides teh fact that running at 1 ohm gives you more power, does the amp take more current from the battery? or does it tend to overheat quicker than at 2 ohms?

thanks.

coo, i meant more like in general. like the hifonics ones (z1000d n hercules) they are 1 ohm stable too, but they creat like 300-500 more watts at 1 ohm. also some other ones i believe like MTX, n RF.

thanks tho, helpful.

I love running my amps @ 1.33ohms. You can cook on them but I am paying the price as far as power goes. I need a larger alt....badly!!!....But I love the power output vs. 2ohms and I don't really notice the distortion being increased.

2x 4 ohm coils can be wired parallel to 2 ohms or series to 8 ohms. There's many amps with 2 ohm power you can use.
