1999 Galant Wiring problem

Let me start by saying that I'm completely new at this and have little idea to what I'm doing. I do have a little electrical background but nothing to do with radios.

I've got a 1999 G[alant that had the original car radio in it and I decided to switch it with a Kenwood MP242 now I got the radio out just fine. But when I looked at the wiring the power had open wires so they are easy to get to, the problem is that the speakers go through an adapter. I've got a couple pictures of it and I was hoping if you guys could give me any suggestions as to how to connect the two.

Splice into the current wires, or run your own.

Should I splice into the one I'm holding as well?

And if so would the colored wires be in there?
