1998 dodge ram 1500 amp help

i have a 1998 dodge ram 1500. i have replaced the speakers in the front doors and they have these little things attached to them that circuitcity told me was an amp. i am also putting in a new radio and i was wondering if there was another amp.

if your truck came with the infinity system then you do have a factory amp. if i remember right, in my 97 ram it was in the passenger kick panel. i dont know what kind of amp could be attached to you speakers. sounds more like bass blockers..

Infinity actually put the amps on the speakers, pretty dumb design.

The amp is on the speakers in the Ram, though not all Chrysler Infinity systems do it that way. I'm not completely certain about the '98 but in later Rams the amplifiers on the front speakers also run the rear speakers; if you replace the fronts and bypass the amp, you'll also have to do some rewiring to make the rears work.

Yea its on the speakers. Just run your own wires
