I fit a 4.2 cube net tuned to 34 in my 91 accord and I didn't have to take out any panels to make it fit. I also had a 95 back in the day that will fit some prety big boxes too. It's all a matter of measuring everything twice. Anything can be done.
This. The cheaper Pioneer subs love HUGE boxes when porting. I would say a better option at this point is sit him down and explain the limits of the system he has. If would like to increase the sound level he will need to save and budget accordingly. It can be done fairly easy and on a relatively cheap budget. Look into the space he has available and look at what could be a budget. Then figure out a plan. Best option to be completely honest.
The model for the subs is TS-W303R 12"......the Pioneer box states recommended volume 1.5 cu ft w/3"x6.5"port with a maximum size of 2.0 cu ft with a 3"x3.5" port.......Are these the subs you have experience with? The cheaper Pioneer subs love HUGE boxes when porting.
