Hey guys.

Used to go to this site a while back, when "Second Skin" was just coming out. Actually I think my previous handle won a raffle for 50sq feet. I think maybe 2-3 years ago lol... I haven't been into the car audio world in a while, but now I picked up a 1996 Chevy Caprice. It's just got 58,000 on her, and was driven by my friend's grandfather for 50k. Good car, all I have right now is a K&N intake system, but I have a catback sitting in my room waiting for the time to get installed. I'm also going to re-tune the PCM, give it some balls. In other words, de-gramp-a-fie (????) the beast.

Now, the stock system in this car. Hah....well the 2 speakers that are pretty much useless up front, and some cheap pioneer 6x9 that rattle the speaker cover because I couldn't find the grills.

I have a Pioneer 6 series head-unit from 2 years ago.....it's not bad but come on, time to get with technology. So it sits in my room, next to my exhaust. I like the new Premier series, and you can find a good deal online. I'm just deciding which model I would want in the future. Definately an MP3 player. I like the idea of having a 200+ song selection. It'll sound good in the SQ department, but then agaion so would Alpine.....

Now, for these front speakers. Well they are 4x6's....enough said. I know there is a diagram on the ImpalaSSforum.com website I go to that allows you to put 6.5's in there . A template of sort. I think 6.5's would be better. And of course, I WOULD LIKE to have a component system up front. I'd have it custom installed so I can place the tweeter in the very left side pillar of my car. Any suggestions on a good brand? (If this is even possible....I'd be happy with a good pair of 6.5's!) SQL preferred I guess, I'd like to hear what's going on AND enjoying myself at the same time.

For my rear 6x9's.....well I think I can do better.

Now, for my subs......I listen to a good amount metal music. Some rap too, but it's not where my heart lays. I would like 2 twelves, but I think 2 10"s would be more space efficient. (I am a window cleaner, I need a little bit of room for my stuff back there) I'd like to have two boxes running on the sides of the space tire. A while back Image Dynamics were pretty good as I recall. How do they stack up now? Definately looking for that SQL balance. The box would be sealed.

Amplifiers? I'm not sure on. Never had one before! I'm looking to power the component system and the subwoofers. I'm not looking to wake up the neighborhood. But ****, I'd like to jam the hell out with Slayer's "Skeletons of Society" and feel that drumming lol.

my car takes 4x6's up front. theres not many out there that i found that can take alot of power. i have some pioneer plate 4x6's now that are ok i guess, but theres no midbass, and they cant take enough power to be heard lol. i'd shoot for the 6.5" components , i think im gonna try to throw some in the doors depending on how hard it is to cut.

Didn't know people from my area were up on here. I'm in Jensen Beach, Ft Pierce is just a short drive.

LeeAudio, I'll take you up on your offer when the time comes. Looking for affordable professional installation.....this car is a good car it just needs some bump......not looking to throw over $1,000 just yet.....
