1995 Blazer - Everything setup right but no noise from woofers.

Hey guys,

I finished my setup today and everything seems to be connected correctly. I try playing a song but the woofers arent even moving at all. Tried switching up RCA cables and still nothing. The HU/AMP are working perfectly fine and lights are fully bright. Might it be a bad ground? Would a bad ground cause the woofers not to work at all? Seems like no signals coming from the RCA's.

Which HU are you using? Is the subwoofer output on?

Its a Alpine CDE-123 and yep the SW is switched ON from the headunit

Have you double checked simple things like making sure the sub is wired to the amp? I sounds dumb, but people forget about stuff like that all the time. How many amps do you have running? Is there more than one set of rca's and if so, have you tried plugging the front speakers into the amp at a low level just to see if there is any response?

Yeah the subs are wired and connected. It's one mono - hifonics bxi1208d. Does the ground have anything to do with the woofers not moving at all?

With a bad ground I would think you would still get some noise. Im not familiar with that amp, but does it have any external fuses that could be blown? The amp is powering up and not going into protect mode right?

Yep its not going into protect, and the fuse is fine, nothings blown. Its grounded under the backseat, pretty clean and sanded down.

If it was a ground issue, your amp shouldn't even turn on or you would get a lot of feedback and heat. Is the amp turning off when you shut the vehicle off? You could have a remote issue or your amp is going into protect (which means it will still stay lit up to show power but wont provide any power to the sub). Simple test as well is try hooking up a different sub if you have one and see if that gets power.

Try plugging something else into the amp inputs, like an iPod or portable radio. That'd help narrow down your problem.

Hey guys, solved the issue. Didn't have a nice solid ground. Changed it up and working perfect now. Thanks for the help everyone!
