1993 Ranger Extended Cab Build/install

Finally getting around to makin my door pods in my Ranger. Have only got the panels cut for them so far.

Going off of bigbud747's idea which can be seen here http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=371608&highlight=ranger+panels

Heres the pic i have now of them cut:

Gotta question tho....since im going to have to fill in the original speaer grill thing and the window crank hole, im going to give the whole door that "glass" look by sanding it all smooth and painting it....but where i run into a prob is the carpet piece at the top...if i just coat that with fibergalss resin will it harden to where i can sand it and paint it?

All tips on how to make this turn out great is greatly appreciated....and b4 somebody tells me...im not gonna cut the panels out the back b/c my doors arent sealed so it would just rattle.

why dont you just pull the carpet out of the door i know there is a tool for doing that

that piece is wrapped and its like plastic riveted to the panel....i wont have ne way of gettin it back on unless i screwed it in from the back.

just glass it and sand it what are you going to do to the window crank hole and and grill fill it with what? just curious

bondo prolly...will have to coat the plastic around it with resin or rough it up alot to get it to stay tho.

id like to see some pics when finished, i used adapters to put the 6.5" midrange in the factory 5x7 opening and mounted the tweeter up by the door handle surround piece.

yea i gotta find a place to mount my tweets...i wnted them up in the top triangle piece of the panel but that would block my whole defrost vent. might do wat you did in the handle. Pm me man^ i wanna tlk bout ur Ranger.
