1991 Cadillac DeVille Build - RE, DD, RF, Second Skin, ect.

Tomorrow I'm planning on getting the tweets installed and getting the mids in the doors. I will update this thread with new pics and stuff whenever I can.
I though I'd go ahead and throw this picture in while I'm at it tonight. This is a custom box built to my specs by our good friend VitVeet. The box turned out great and it fits like a glove. I would highly recommend him to build your box if you need one. His prices were the lowest I found and quality is second to none.

The boxes specs are 36" wide, 14" tall and 29" deep. It's 4.5 cubes of airspace tuned to 31 hz and has a 6.75" wide port with 84.5 square inches of port area.

Def. looks good to me:D;)!!!

Good job on with the Second Skin! With the 'thickness' of it, was it difficult for you to get your dash/rear deck back on? Did you use one layer or mulitple layers??!!?

We're def. waiting to see and hear about how the final product sounds!

OK, I didn't get all the stuff done today that I wanted to but I got one door completely finished and one door partly done. This was my first ever attempt at building door panels to fit custom speakers so let me know what you think about the results. I'm kind of pissed because I had been looking for some RE 6.5" Grills to use on these for so long but I had to end up using some Alpine ones for now. If you have any RE Grills you want to get rid of please let me know! The hardest part was getting the door back on and getting it sealed up nice and tight. Ok on to some pics for you..

Here are a few pics of the car itself as requested. The only thing I have done to the exterior so far is get the windows tinted. I also took time to go the big three in 1/0 wire. I have a set of 22"s that will be going on in the near future. I also had a Viper 7900 alarm installed this past week. I bought about 5 of the extra things to go with it too and I am very please with it this far.

I haven't put the rear deck or dash back on yet because I haven't got the speakers installed there yet. I used double layers on most parts of the doors and tripled up behind where the speakers will be. The doors went back on with problems so I hope the dash and deck will be the same. Thanks for the comment V.

Ok I just ckecked the UPS web site and I will be getting my two new sets of XXX 6.5" mids and the SS Luxury Liner Pro that I got from another forum member here. FedEx will be delivering a Stinger SP2150 Battery and some more 1/0 wire also. Hopefully I will be able to get the carpet out, the floor deadened, and the Luxury Liner installed today if I have time when I get home from work. Pics to follow..

You should go ahead and recarpet the rest of that door panel. The 2 tone carpet is killing it. But it looks great. Let me know how you like those comps.

Ok guys, time for and update and some new pics! I got the passenger side door completely done and I agree that I should recarpet the rest of the panel. I also got both tweets installed and the dash put back on. Here are a few pics of that stuff..

12 Gauge Wire That I Used:

It was hot as balls outside today but I didn't care.. I wanted to get my seats out and start working on putting the Second Skin Damplifier and Luxury Liner Pro on the floors. It wasn't very hard to get the seats out except for the seat belt bolts were a mother.. No matter what I did I couldn't get them loose so I had to take it up to my local car repair shop to get the to loosen them for me.

I got front and back seats out, all the padding and everything under the dash that I could. Unfortunately I ran out of Damplifier before I was finished so I will have to order some more. It usually takes three or four days for it to get here so in the mean time I am going to start running wire and the the TV installed in the dash. Here are some pics of the seat removal and stuff. Stay tuned!
