Whats up guys,
I been thinking lately that my 21 year old speakers aren't cutting it.
I am going for more of SQ set up, not too complex, not "in-your-face" set up.
Now on my old z i made door pods that fired into the door, the pod was a replacement for the original speaker cover. That was powered by an old MTX 4 channel amp.
This is the door pane of my current Zl:
Here is the door panel speaker pod of my older Z back in 1999, This set up had good sound, pounded with some serious mid bass, the pods had a hole that was right in front of the door opening for the original speaker. Tweeter looks like they are in a weird position but this is what sounded best after 5 attempts on placement.
Now what I need is suggestions on possibilities of either a door speaker pod or just deaden the door and install in stock location.
What I am doing is 2 6.5" per door and a tweeter
now to make it fit.
I don't want to go this large of pod again.
This is not my car, but shows the stock speaker cover which is removable from the door panel.
This is another door shot of someones car showing the speaker area with an aftermarket coaxial:
A fellow Z'ers door deadened with fatmat for single 6.5":
Suggestions on fitting 2 6.5" mids on there? tweeter placement?
Also speaker cover replacement holding the mids firing into the door?
Speaker cover replacement door pod for the mids?
ahhhh!!!!
