1982 Honda Civic Hatch...Good SPL Cars?

Found a old school 1982 civic today. Body is in great condition, little 2 door hatchback. Guy said the motor needed a head gasket but i offered him 150 bucks for it and he might sell it. Looks like a little carburated 1.4 or something, 5 speed.Got lots of room in the backseats and cargo area for a wall or something, and room under the hood for 2 batts, and can also easily add a second alt it looks like //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif But basically what im wondering is are these good SPL cars for comps and such? I think you'll be happy with it.

has a very small front cabin.

All depends on what your goal is.

But if you're planning on walling it off

then with the right gear you'll do okay..

I am running 1 15" Cerwin Vega VEGA series, 3 to 3.5 cu ft that takes up entire hatch, 2 4" ports at about 35 Hz. Powered by a Rockford Fosgate Vintage Old School Punch 150 bridged mono (3rd gen from 1989). Another Punch 150 from same era running RF coaxials & tweets from 2000.

Yes, they can be great SPL cars...especially being a hatchback with the cabin gain like the famous CRX for SPL.

Mine is set up more for SQ/SPL.
