uh, thats a different topic.
airspace does have an affect, but when debating between enclosures, it's already been discussed that for a deeper, lower end with better frequency response, sealed is the better way to go for the 2007 XXX 18.

many people think these new xxx's are like the old....they're practically a totally different sub.

and it's in an SUV, not a car.

it is a completley different woofer! car = vehicle. dont get technical for no reason

The new model xxx 18 has an EBP of [approx] 23. Combined with an astounding amount of excursion, I dont think there's any question this driver is designed to work best sealed.

Okay. Well all this will be solved tomorrow.

Personally, for your sake, I hope you get the sound you want out of that sealed box because if you don't you might as well not post the results of the install and just go ahead and make your way over to ROE.

this is coming from your threads asking about the woofer, because obviously you did not know anything about the woofer and its T/S specs, and what kinda box its best suited in.. where very knowledgeable people, like audioholic, basically told you everything about the woofer, etc and so you decided to go sealed.

so shut the hell up stop trying to act smart. and post some fucking pictures when you create a thread about an install

i talked to JR from us and the techs from RE about enclosure options. multiple people here have shown that by analyzing the T/S parameters this sub begs for a sealed box. i took this back to RE, and confirmed it - they just said don't go HUGE (8 cubes or more) which then you lose the higher frequencies (obviously)

nobody here has put up a good backing for ported. nobody. only people who have exp with older XXX's, not the new ones.

just quit replying, your opinion isnt wanted.
