thanks for all your help guys, i see that the MT would be ALOT better but due to the major price difference and the sq capabilities of the mj i think thats what im gonna go with, plus i can keep my current amp.

A $100 modestly motored 18" Subwoofer, with a stamped basket, looser suspension, and lower power handling... to a $500+ over motored 18" subwoofer, with a large cast frame, extreme power handling, huge SPL capability, extremely tight gap, etc, etc...

I think you should look inbetween the two. Check out a Fi BL or Q. I have the 18" BL and it does great off 1000w, very loud and it sounds decent. The 18's are around $300 shipped.

yea the mj 18's i have were a great buy, but they are not a $500 sub. i have yet to hear just one hooked up so i cant comment on what you could expect.
