I got my MT18 being built! I cant wait!!
when i got my 15" it just had a small part of one corner pushed in. but RE does a good packing job and everything was perfect.
I don't see how shipping companys can mess up a box that has 2 huge Orange stickers on them saying, FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE.

A CD, its National Treasure. I don't know if a lot of people are familiar with webshots but you should be able to click and make em bigger and cycle through the picks on the right side. BTW before anyone asks, the pictures in that album of the skid marks into the ditch are from me coming home from school today. Started coming around that corner and it my car just kept on goin straight, I did everything I could and jumped it right into that guys front yard. I too run a SX 18. I am convinced that the problem with the packaging is RE!!!
Just like you, i love the sub, im very impressed with it. . . but MORE people need to complain about the way them subs are shipped.
Its true that FED EX should take it easy in delivery, expecially since it says fragile on it. But look, When i ordered my MMATS, they was packaged in cardboard. But they took the extra steps to stuff it with packing peanuts and foam mold. Therefore, it sat very sturdy inside the box it was shipped in. When i ordered my ID10v.3's, it was the same story. They build a frame inside the cardboard that supports both the top and the bottom of the sub. .
But RE However. . .
This is how my box looked on delivery.
The big *** gash on the side is where the magnat busted through the side of the box. See, they glue a thin peice of board to the bottom of the box. Followed by the one layer of stryofoam that wraps the magnat, then its taped down. Then, they squeeze in 4 peices of stryofoam at each corner and expect the sub to stay stationary like that.
When the subs get shipped, they are bouncing around in the back of trucks and what not, and they have plenty of wiggle room for the glue to break free and roll inside the box.
ITS REs FAULT!!! if they packaged it more sturdy, the sub and the box would arrive in good condition. Everyone i have ever spoke to that owns at least the 18" SX said their sub was received in the same condition. What are the chances that Fed EX mishandled at least 10 customers products and all them being the same EXACT product? Possible. . but slim

I probably will just send them a couple emails with the pictures. Now that I think about it the insides of the box consisted of just a cardboard ring around the magnent that was taped to the bottom of the box, and the sub was wrapped in plastic. To me the funniest part was that they gave me an allen head wrench for the terminals and just stuck it to the side of the magnet. i know exactly how urs looked. . .probably VERY similar to mine.
my first complaint was submitted via e-mail sent with pics. . 2 1/2 weeks with no reply. .
so i called and put in a formal complaint. . . then i received a call back. They said they was sorry, they wasnt aware of problems with the packaging and told me that if the sub was damaged, they would replace it. . IF I PAYED FOR SHIPPING lmao. . .

my XXX was used, but im assuming they ship all of them in a wooden crate, but i still had to ship it using a new box cuz the bottome was ripped, and i pulled the wood on the bottom only for support, and put bubble wrap and packing peanuts in mine, i work for UPS as a driver helper for the holidays, and all the packages ive seen that look tore up is because of they way they were packed, some companies will ship them in their retail box instead of a sturdier cardboard box, we had a tool kit that was like 3ft long and was like open on one say to display the tools, like you would see in a store, and that shit was tore up, i was like wtf
pictures make the magnet/motor structure look little lol but i was suprised when I got it its pretty big lol

another reason y i dont put up wit RE. pay all that money and they cant afford to ship the subs better, i mean cmon.
