18 MT question

Hey bringing the thread back!

I have to rebuild my 18" mt box to fit my truck... I was shooting for 7+ ft^3 but i just wont have space with the amp rack and batteries.. What do you guys recomend for an optimal enclosure.

Ill most likely be looking around 6 ft^3 final

and woudl you still follow the 14-16 in^2 of port area per ft^3 or a little more then that..

It will be getting 2500watts of an orion.

14-16 sq inches per sqaure foot is fine for a daily box.

aight... I want to use the sub to its fullest potential for daily app but not sure if i can get enough airspace in there =/ seems like these guys did fine with smaller boxes though so ill give it a go.

you can go with something as small as 4 cubes ported......itll be fine.

Thats what worries me... What type of tunning do you guys recommend for this big guy?

I know my AQ HD3 liked 37hz but im not sure about mt's

i ran one at 26 hz and it wasnt good at all...it was outperformed by the HC.

did it again at 31HZ and it destroyed everything

id reccomend 35 hz or so

so MT dont like the higher tuning as AQ do huh?

mine has a juggernaut recone on it so i hope that doesn't effect the tunning it likes to much =/

It will all end up in my build log later on anyway. maybe ill do a removable port, who knows.

i am lookin at 6.2 cubes tuned at 33hz with around 98 sq inches of port
