If you dont even know that 12v batteries can in no way give you 16v, then you dont need to be running a 16v system.

12 volt batteries will not give you 17 volts unless you have a means of charging them up that high and keeping them there and I would strongly recomend that you save up and upgrade to a 16 volt system if you plan to run at 17 volts. those 12 volt batts will not hold up long charged that high.

12 volt batteries will be destroyed if you tried to charge them to 17(18) volts. You need 16v bats, or 8v bats wired up to 16v and a bunch of them. than you need a HO alt with an external voltage regulator to get voltage up that high, and you need step down circuitry to get the voltage back to 12-14 for the cars electronics. or you can keep the cars alt and rig up a second HO alt with external regulator for the amplifiers alone.

Well right now im running 1 of my 2 on 4gauge power an ground and 8gauge speaker wire off a 2400watt(prolly only doin 1000watt) legacy predator waiting for the hk4000d to get here and next thurs,friday im having all new speakers and both subs put in

1 x 1800W @ 4 Ohm (14.4V)

1 x 3600W @ 2 Ohm (14.4V)

1 x 2000W @ 4 Ohm (17V)

1 x 4000W @ 2 Ohm (17V)

And iv got 2 18" fi btls D1 ohm coils im wanting to run

Get a different amp than?? is 400 extra watts really worth the thousand or so dollars it will take to get a 17v system?

dude u r kidding me right u get another amp so one amp to each sub and if u run each sub at 2ohms thats only 400rms per sub more from 14 to 17volts for all that money u will be spending its not worth it. why dont you just buy something that will do 4krms at 14volts thats just a waste of money for 800rms total

7krms will be more than enough for you

they are Dual 1 ohm coils so they will b ran at 1 ohm and i dont have stats on this amp for 1 ohm

i do not think the amp is one ohm stable so that is prolly a major fail.

and you expect to run a amp that big on one 4 ga power wire let alone a 16 volt system
