if i get a ho alt that is externally regulated can a disconect my stock battery and run my rear batts straight to the alt?run my vehicle off of the batt and the amp of of the alt?mind this would only be for the lanes so about 30 sec. and charge all batts in between?

Technically you could do that. Seems like a hassle. Just buy a stepdown box.

is that the blue box i see under the hood?how does that work just keeps the voltage from going ovr a certain limit?

the blue box is the external regulator portion. Why not just get enough batteries to supply the system and use a battery charger.

Also what class you trying to compete in?

Turbostart makes a 12/16 battery if you can still buy them.

your asking for problems if you do it the way your thinking.

A stepdown box basicly drops the voltage lower.

i'm in ss 1-2nw and have 4 deep cycles already but my hk runs best at 15 from what i here so i am trying to raise allitle.can i charge the batts i have now to 15 and do it like that or will they not hold that 15 long enough?
