16+ volt setups. How?

^^^ Yeppers, that would do! I myself do not compete and run a single XXX-6500 on a single sub as a daily driver and yes my taste for loudness maybe a little off for others, daily-wise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. On 16V it allows me to run longer as the XXX-6500 can play under 11V, takes me more than 3 days to get my bank down to the 12V level so plugging it in at night of day 3 is quite convenient for me. Anyone here know how to wire an internal regulator, ones with the built in brushes or have the wiring diagram of the chip so I can add my external regulator? Polo...

I guess the most practicle d/d setup as well as most cost effective decision is to just go with a regular, beefed up electriclal. I suppose the 16+ volt setups are for the true competitors. I hope to win a comp or two but I just don't know if modifying my electrical so much is the best thing for my truck or for my wallet. I guess I'll end up with a single 300 amp alt from Dom and 12v batteries in the back. Can I ask what is the significant difference between a G34 and a G31? I like the G43 idea because I can fit 4 of them length wise across the back of my truck right up against the back of the second row. The G31 is significanly larger than the G34 isn't it? Anyone know how large of an enclosure (net or gross) I can possibly fit in the back of a 2004 Trailblazer LT subs up, port back, and under the window. I am in the process of picking up two SS XXX 15s and I'm gonna need 8 cubes net at least. I know I can get it with the G34s across the back. If i put 4 G31s back there does anyone know if I could still fit 8 cubes?

wow there are like 300 threads of this. search function ownz all.

but this is how im running a 16v daily setup. the work in progress that is. waiting on my batteries and stepdown right now. should have it this week.

basically run the wires from your alternator directly to your 16v bank. from your 16 bank run the wires from the step down module then from the stepdown to you 12v battery that will still be in the stock location. the stepdown module has 25 amp of continuous so u might look into getting 2.

might be a hard picture to understand. but here shortly i should have a real life photo of mine up and running just have to buy some buss bars.

nah that makes sense. Insead of drawing the stereo current through the stepdown you are only drawing the vehicle current. If this was a Guiness commerical I would say, "Brilliant!!!" How to wire two stepdowns though? And if all this works out, what batteries, how many, and how bout a decent price. I'm alreay looking at almost 7 grand on my new stereo. And I only have about 3 grand so far.

for 2 stepdowns u wire them the same and run them both to the 12 volt battery. its just like 2 alternators. so u would have 50 amps of continuous current which would be no problem what so ever.

the powermaster 16v is fairly cheap if you talk to or find the right people/places. i just ordered 14 batteries from a place for 2500 shipped. and i have a site where the stepdown is 90 shipped.

but for starters look into powermaster. talk to scottie johnson.

That's the second reference to SJ. Guess I'll talk to him then. I won't bother him right now though. I'll wait til I get the subs in teh mail. Should be withing the next several weeks. I'm just trying get ideas for now and figure out costs and what I need to prep my truck for. Thanks for all the help everyone. Now to go learn about components and stereo amps.

I agree call Scottie at Powermaster and he will tell you the low down on the way it should be done! He will be the first guy in line to tell you the 3 post is only a short term solution!
