15XXX got stolen, looking for something new

Velcro stopping thieves? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
The only real deterrent to theft is either bolting the box down to the vehicle or making it so **** heavy you need a crane to get it out. In those situations, though, they're likely just to put a knife through the cone for spite.
my last two subs had aluminum cones so i dont think a knife would go thru those, but the surround is another story

Hell I had my box built inside the car. It still didnt matter, they just stole the whole car. I had 2 alarms on the ***** and they still got that mug. Oh well what I do know is buy a car that is a reagular on the street. I have a cavalier that fits in with most all cavaliers that are well yellow. But hell I still have everything. Knock on wood NOW!

being a proud father of a XXX15, i would cry if that happened......i can even begin to know ....sorry for your loss man, hopefully bad karma follows that sub and someone drops it on thier foot and shatters thier foot........

anyhow....the presence alone of cameras is a good one, i live in city apt complex and i managed to come across some camereas and a multiplexor for cheap. i have 3 camereas set up around watching, with one on the car, but also close to the car set up is a dummy camera that makes it look ike its RIGHT there at the car.....i hope my efforts pay off and a crackhead doesnt take my shit..... KNOCK ON WOOD

Hey was gone for a while, back now. Thanks for the replies. It was only in a 2^3 sealed box because I have a Prelude, not enough room for the huge ported one we had. I don't know how they got it out really, whenever I put it in it was pretty hard, it would be very hard to get out if you'd never done it before. I still do not understand why they went through the trouble to take the sub and box but not the amp... seriously. I don't have enough room to port a 15, (I have about 4^3 max) that is why I am looking into getting a 12.

How are the 12" XXX? I've only heard a 15 and 18. How is their range and everything? I'd really love to stick with RE if possible, even my 15" was accurate as hell, I loved that sub. Or hell, maybe I should just get another 15".

I'm always careful about where I play it, I'd never play it within like a half mile of where I parked it. Alarms and stuff can help deter inexperienced thieves, but the bottom line is if someone wants what you have bad enough, there is nothing you can do to stop them.

doesn't matter, if they want it badly enough they will get it.
Anybody could get anything if they wanted it badly enough. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

My point is, unless the have a chainsaw they're not really getting at shit unless they SEVERELY damage the stuff. Also, it'd take forever...AND they'd need to get around my 3-stage alarm with backup battery and brain hidden.

There is no such thing as theft PREVENTION really, just theft deterrent.

Do you know how 'soft' aluminum cones are? They dent VERY easily ... it wouldn't take much to punch through one with a blunt object like a screwdriver or pencil, let alone a knife.
