15xxx and power handling.

I'm running my 15xxx of a saz-1500D (1500 @ 1 ohm). Since I can't get my hands on a clamp or O-scope, I set it to the appropriate voltage (38.7 for 1500 @ 1 ohm etc). Since pioneer decks go to 62, I set my volume at 45. JL says, set it at 3/4 to allow for reasonable gain overlap with moderate clipping at full volume. Pioneer decks seem to get really loud around 45-60 range - and so does my sub. I've taken it to 55, but never held it there long enough to know if it can take all day long. The sub can take more then the amp can produce, of only unclipped signal. If I had another sub of similar power handling I would test it, not this one - she's a sweet sounding bizznatch.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Thx.

^ Read what I wrote one more time. Will I be able to play it to 55-58 for example?

if you want to run it that loud put your volume up to 55 and set your voltage there.

you are either asking

1. If your amp can make more thatn the 1500rms its rated for without clipping?

2. If the answer to number 1 is yes than you want to know if your sub is safe playing with this wattage.

or 3. Is running your Hu at 55 when you set the amp to make 1500rms at 45 gonna clip your signal possibly sending dc to sub? or is it just making more more clean power and if so can your xxx handle it.

tested power of your amp here http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7116

most people do not think there is much gain to be had over 1500rms anyways.

sounds like you need a clamp and an o scope. It could be that the RCA's volume is not linear though I would hate to find out that this was true. best of luck.
