15's or 18?

well, i think theoretically, 2 15's powered correctly would be louder than one 18, surface area wise.

Dont get me wrong, 18's are hella loud on most subs lol, but i have never heard an audioque so i dont know anything for sure

Dual 15's will have two motors to soak up the power... less power compression and less strain on the woofers. In a ported application, the dual 15's should easily get louder, again more voice coil to absorb the power. In a sealed application, the 15's should edge out the single 18 for displacement potential, so again winning the comparison. But the dual 15's will likely cost nearly double what the single 18 would, and require a bit bigger enclosure.

If you have the money and space, do the dual 15's. If you are lacking in either of those areas, do the single 18.
