1500d vs 1800d

Hows it going guys? I am planning on running a 12" alpine type-x and am looking at an amp for it. Its RMS is 1000w. I am looking at either a hifonics bx1500d or a 1800d. The 1800 is only $20 more. I have heard that the 1500d does not put out its rated power. I will be running the amp at 2 ohms and the 1500d will give it 1000@2 ohms and the 1800d will give it 900@2. That doesnt make sense. Isnt the 1800d a more powerful amp? Well I am leaning towards the 1800d simply because i havent heard of any problems with it. Can anyone offer any input? Can anyone tell me the actual power of these 2 amps at 2 ohms? Thanks.

i would go with the mtx 1501d or something a with a little less power if you are running a sub at 2 ohms... the hifonics won't put out it's exact rated power... it will prolly give you closer to 800rms or so to that sub... BUT, the hifonics 1500 is a cheap way out and it would power that sub decently...

there have been a few instances of mishap w/ hifonics...but most other cases were misuse.

the 1500d will put out ~100ish watts less than what they claim.

the 1500d will be more than suffice to power the type x. if you plan on upgrading in the future, get the 1800.
