I say panasonic, more rms to the speakers and 5V output so more voltage to the amp. Personally, I don't like the looks of the alpines.

Looks have nothing to do with it. Rule of thumb is if an Alpine says 4 volts out, then it's 4 volts out. Unlike Panasonic, which claims 60 watts RMS x4 & 5v on some of their HUs, which appearantly isn't exactly 60wrms nor 5v.

Hey a good HU is a good HU whether everyone has one exactly like it or not. Why buy a lesser brand just because not many people have it?
