i have a hifonics bx1500d and a 15" xxx what else do i need to hook this system up besides a box ? do i need a capacitor or something ? and what is that ?

a wiring kit?

youll probably need an upgraded battery if yours is junk or possibly a higher output alternator.

a capacitor is totally a waste of money. your amp will probably draw enough power at high volumes that it will either stall your car or shut off(the amp i mean). if you don't plan on competing at all or really turning it up extremely loud (in other words, daily driving) then you should probably be fine. if it turns out that your lights are dimming when the bass hits, take the alt out, take it to an alt shop, and have them rewind it like 20A or so and that should help alleviate your problem without spending $400 for a 200A alt. usually alt shops will rewind your alt for something like $1/A. i would have had mine rewound, but taking a 75A alt to 160A+ would probably have taken some act of god. i just opted to get a 200A from PA Performance, which specializes in mustangs.

what's the ampere rating on it? 140A+ should probably be fine for daily driving. if you plan on doing a lot of comps i'd suggest rewinding to 180+ if it's possible, or just buying a new 200A alt or something. i'm not exactly sure on any of this, since my own personal experiences with this totally **** (ie i bought a 200A alt to replace my 75A alt and i still have major power problems driving at night with the lights on and my radiator fan on, still trying to figure out what the problem is). the best way to figure out if your alt will handle it for what your using it for is to just put the amp/sub in your car and drive around with it. if the lights are really dimming and you don't have the volume up high, highly consider getting your old alt rewound or getting a beefier alt.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
