I had two treo ssx 15's in 8 cubes and it absolutely slammed! I foolishly sold them to go with a two 18 setup, but realized that I didn't have the space for 2 18's. So now I'm back to 15's and wondering would two new xxx 15's outshine my treo's? Should, right? What do you guys think?

-With 2000 watts each btw.

i have heard the treo semi truck at the austin texas heat wave, it had 4 15 ssx treos and hit a 172 on the meter that was a loud motha fu@#a, if u really aint sure look into the excursion on both of those subs it will tell it all for u. i believe the excursion on the treo's is at least 1 more inch higher on the treo's compared to the triple xxx's

because excursion is the determining factor right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I have a 15" SSX on 4500 rms and yes it is an amazing sub. Honestly it isn't really a low beast, not like the 06 XXX is supposed to be and BTW I thing the XXX's XMAS is far beyond the SSX's, maybe your thinking of the 05 XXX? Louder I would say the SSX takes it but lower hitting, the XXX should win but with more power... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Polo.

PS- I am switching to a TC-5200.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i find it rather hard to believe considering its meant to be tuned at 29-30hz.......

read my sig, that should answer your questions
until you have a problem. i burn a tinsel lead on my 06xxx (with about 2300 watts) re refuse to sell me the lead. Shawn from fi offer to send me some for free i only have to pay the shipping. that says a lot for both companies.

i wouldn't recommend more that 2500watts on a xxx unless you like a well-done sub.

but how did it sound? did it really pound?

i heard a 12" XXX off like 1500 and was not impressed....it was hooked up to a stock radio that kept turning off when he turned it loud tho

it not as loud as i that. it has great low end, but it not louder than my previous setup ( 2 10w7 seal. ). maybe it because it in a seal enclosure. i going to build a ported box tune to 32Hz. ill let you know how it sounds.

im not sure im pretty sure it was ported but then again i might be wrong could have been sealed...i think it mostly had to do with his stock head unit tho he couldnt set levels or crossovers n all that shit

Just because its Fs is that low has no bearing on wether it will be loud done below... Polo..
considering i said nothing about the fs of the woofer itself.

could have an fs of 45hz but still preform better in a box at 30. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

but whatever keep thinking you know what you're talking about.
