you should try them ported. Even if, in your opinion, the jl rapes the q i would still never buy jl. but if it makes him happy then whatever

I mean the Q is cool and all(ive owned the 15Q as well) but there are alot better woofers out there. In terms of SQ i wouldn't doubt for a second that the 13W6v2 outperforms the Q. The Q gets loud sure, but unless your competing what does it matter??

well your putting 1000rms on a w6 which is rated for 600rms?
put 1400rms on the Q and tell me what happens.

I put 1500 to my Q and it took it like a champ. I was kinda disapointed in the output of the Q though,it was in 2.5 cubes tuned to 32 and only the lows really shone through,alas the good old days when I was happy with one 12.

It seems like most people on thsi forum just care about getting as loud as possible with regard of SQ and throwing 1000's of watts to a woofer. Not everyone wants a woofer that when it hits you cant hear the words anymore, and your hearing goes to the crapper. MY tc2000, Oz audio matrix Elite, diyma r 12, Eclipse sw9152 all sounded better than the Q hence why I dont have it anymore. Don't get me wrong its a solid performer but people need to be a little more subjective

As any veteran will tell you SQ is subjective. I'm glad you liked the W6v2 better.

I wonder if you used the same box for each test though. I would assume to form an opinion and stake a claim on a forum, you would have done a optimal test for each driver.

All I can say is the two drivers built in ideal sealed running off 1kw, the 13w6v2 rapes the Q, in every way.

Lets see: $294 + shipping Vs $639 shipped.

Its double the price of the Q I hope it would outperform the FI subwoofer.

Putting the same amount of power at two subs that have different power ratings is a really, really stupid way of testing them.

Put a Q against a dub6, each in an optimally-built box, each with an amp matching its power rating, THEN compare.

Then unless the w6 is so much better I actually make a mess in my pants, the fact that I'd probably be saving about $200 buying the Q means it ain't worth it.
