15" AQ HDC3 vs 15" SI Mag

All of this hype about the AQ's around the forum has got me wondering if I should pick one up. Anyone tried both yet?

Will the HDC3 do well in a 3.1cuft box?

Its not an SPL sub....SQL

And i always wanted to try a MAG...maybe when i get a diff car i shall go for all SQ

a mag is not all sq....they can get very very loud too....but yeah they sound amazing

it was on an equal amp, but with gains set to give 1800wrms

IMHO, no. after all displacements, you would leave like 1.5-2 cubes for the sub (depending on tuning, port area, bracing etc)

after displacement though would be fine.

S.I. Mag sounded amazing to me, and got pretty loud for 1k rms. I've yet to try the HDC's but hopefully soon!!

ive heard both and a 40hz fs sub doesnt sound anything like sql to me.

its like a type R its the best thing since sliced bread now but everyone will get off them sooner or later and hop to the next loudest thing in thier head.

the 15" HDC315 has an initial FS of 38. these are brand new, not broken in values.

the FS will fall to 28-30hz after break in...

I still think a FS of 28hz is pretty high.

I've never heard one and i'd never buy one either, but that's just me.

The OP shouldn't get one either, since even the Mag didn't satisfy him.

I know a lot of people low how the Mag sounds, but I've once traded an Idmax for a Mag and wished I didn't.
