I was thinking about getting the 15 MT in the RE group buy and was just wondering if the orion 2500d would be a nice match for it daily at .5 ohms. Overread in a few threads that its find to run this amp at .5 ohms daily. Other amp suggestions would be welcome too - 20.1 looks pretty tight (was also wondering retail on one of those). Finally was just wondering what a good box would be for this sub daily? port area? cubes? tuning?

They are only selling the MT's with Dual 1, 2, or 4 coils. Would I be better off buying dual 2 and strapping couple of amps for 1 ohm or even run the 2500d at 1 or get dual 1 and find something that can run .5?

just get dual 2 ohms and then a 2500d and run it at 1 ohm...

I absolutely LOVE mine in that box I suggested. I have a 20.1 (thanks dave) on it for the time being @.35ohms daily.

that makes sense - are there any comparable amps out there in the 2-3kw range that can go with the orion 2500d for the price?

im confused as to what coils to get - dual 1 vs dual 2 - to either run 1 ohm or .5 ohm's would be nice to run the .5 but would i sacrifice quality as there would be distortion - also how much louder is the 18 vs 15 for only 25 dollars more - probably worth it?

Question is, do you have enough space for a proper enclosure?

Also, there won't be more audible distortion b/w the two impedances. All it is there for is so that you can match up the correct impedance with your amplifier.

yes - I would have a van or a bigger suv to throw the 18 in when the time came - just wondering what the better voice coil configuration would be since you cant order custom coil set-ups?

It all depends on the amplifier. That's the only purpose the coil configuration serves...is different wiring options.

as i currently dont own one - someone should suggest a quality amp in the $400-600 range or maybe 2 that can be strapped.....

just so you know..the 1 ohm coil is actually .7, the dual 2 is 2.6 (iirc), and the 4 is 2.8ohms...

that orion should be plenty with the dual 1.4's
