13W7 vs. Kicker L7

I had 2 12" L7's and my neighbor has 1 13" w7. If they are both in a ported box with the right amout of watts going to them the w7 is as loud and a lot, a lot cleaner. Go with the w7's. I just sold my 2 L7's to get 2 12" w7's.

I don't want to come off like an ***, but the W7 vs L7 debate has been posted so many times in this section it's not even funny. Do a search for it.

It is true...The man knows what he is talking about. Just for shits and giggles...One 10 L7 will rip the pants right off a 13W7 and **** it all night long. Lets see the hatred i get for that... :hilarious

I'd say if you got 2 L7 12's in a 3-3.5cuft ported box (ea sub) and feed em about 1000watts a piece they would just edge out a 13w7 in any setup (spl wise). The 13w7 would sound a hell of a lot nicer tho.

I'd DEFINITELY take the W7. A single 13w7 has more than a liter of linear displacement over the pair of L7s, as well as far smaller box requirements than a pair of L7s will for the same alignment.

The 13w7 will also have far superior accuracy and linearity.

Definitely the W7, if your primary concern is the accurate reproduction of music.

obviously its not.... seeing how he asked which would be louder.

also, the 2 12" squares would have a lot more cone area than a single 13" circle, so linear displacement isnt the only factor.... although i dont know how you are measuring linear displacement with a measure of volume....

Surface area isn't what's important, it's DISPLACEMENT. The 13w7 has more than 2.5x the linear stroke of the 12L7, which more than compensates for the difference in surface area.

As far as accuracy, the two aren't even REMOTELY comparable. A single 10 or 12L7, in a similar alignment to a W7 of the same size, doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of managing more output.

for music, the W7 has higher potential that the 2 12L7s. for farting, i would say the 13w7 would fairly hang with the 2 12l7. remember... with 5345345 watts going to a sub, its gonna move past its xmax anyways.

while displacement DOES have an affect on SPL, the one with more displacement doesn't always mean its going to be the louder sub. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I believe geolemon settled this in another thread and the L7 one because of something along the lines of sub not moving much in SPL installs but I wont get into that, thats for strictly SPL,not daily installs.

Daily...I would say L7's. If you give each more than 1kw, otherwise w7..RELUCTANTLY.. because it DOES have more linear displacement.

But look at the stroker...what..8mm of movement...how loud is it?

Me and Gsteg have similar sig's...hehe I updated mine today after a talk with him :p!

He is so smurt.

maybe instead of people saying this every other post someone should just make a sticky ...
