13w7, (2) 12w6v2, or XXX

This may sound ridiculous to you because it does to me, but a shop I found in cypress will sell me a 13w7 for 450 or 2 12w6v2's for 450. I figured they must not be authorized, but I checked with JL and they are an authorized dealer. Now, I had been kind of set on getting on a 15" XXX, which is 430 at my local dealer, but now that I can get a 13w7 or 2 12w6v2's for the same price I am unsure. From what I understand, the XXX should be slightly louder than the 13w7, but might be slightly outdone by the w7 in sq. I would think that the w6v2's would be slightly louder than both but I am not that sure. BTW, I have a NINe.1 that puts out close to 1500w @1 ohm and probably about 750 or so at 3 ohm(for the 13w7). I know that there have been many RE vs JL threads in the past, but it seems like they are all influenced by price. So, IF you were in my situation, which would you choose and why? I really want something that will get really loud, but at the same time it has to sound good.

Thanks,

Eric

Never heard any of the RE subs so I can't comment on any, but I will say go for the pair of W6 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

go with the w6v2's I had a pair and I kick my self in the azz for selling them when I did. And 450 is a good price. I might drive up to you and grab some for my self. I am getting my taxs soon, and I would like to do 4 of them this time.

I also was running the 2 w6v2's in a sealed box about 1.5 per sub. With about 500 to each. They were in a suv and sounded great and did get very loud.

If given good power the 13W7 will get louder than the W6's. Either way I would go with the JL's, which ever one that may be.

P.S. I want the number to this shop so I can get some 13 W7's.

Do you think with only 750w or so the 13w7 would get louder than 2 12w6v2's with up to 750 each?

I just noticed that jl makes a 13w6v2 as well. That might be a serious option if the price isnt too bad. Im going to call up the shop today and get a price on the 13w6v2. YOu think two of those would slam? Id put them in a orted box for now and maybe in a sealed box later on.

Ok if both options cost the same , then why not put 750 on each coil of the W7 since you were thinking of running the same power to two W6's?
From a straight SQ standpoint, I like the W6v2's better...they had a more natural tone and balance to them that the W7 didn't have. Now, there wasn't much of a contest in output //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif but I liked the v2's SQ more.

my two cents.
