Neither of which are different enough to cause an audible change in sound. The kicker has better single to noise ratio and less distortion.
I will say, however, that I believe a RF Power series amplifier was tested by CA&E to have significant frequency response anomolies....significant enough that it would cause an audible difference in "sound" if not EQ'd. The Punch series being discussed here may or may not have similar frequency response anomolies, so it's hard to say as I've not seen any independent measurements of this specific amplifier.
Semantics //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gifUgh semantics ... Maybe I shouldn't use the word efficient, but lets face it.. If you need 100W RMS and your amp will only do 100W RMS you will have the gains set higher and potentially sending a clipped single. Whereas, if you needed 100W RMS and you have an amp that will do 200W RMS, then you will have the gains set lower, the amp will be much more effective at driving the speaker with authority and power to spare.
You said the amp would run "cooler and more efficiently".
I showed how it likely would actually run more inefficiently.
That's not semantics.
