i recently got two 12w7s they are for a dodge magnum i was wondering will two be overkill or should i sell one and get a powerwedge box. i have never really heard w7s i jus hooked them up to make sure they worked the amp i will use is a mtx81000d or again sell one and get a 1000/1 jl audio. i listen to stricly rap music i want more spl then sq i want the kind of bass you can feel it outside the car and be like damm w.t.f he got in their //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

w7=sq sub, although it may not be the loudest sub, but it should be loud enough for you! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'd keep both and put in a custom box

Whats that amp putting out?

Edit:

You can build you own box for under like $40 if you have some common tools.

$21-sheet of mdf

$12 Carpet

$6 glue

+ whatever else you want

wish i could build the box i dont really understand the math part of it i would rather have sombody else build it.i keep hearing w7s are sq subs that another reason why i was wantng sum 9500 12s mtx i want this dodge magnum to shake the ground

don't let that sq description steer you away from W7's. they're awesome subs. only thing that steer me away are the price. they get plenty loud.

Yeah, by sq, that means they'll get loud and still sound good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

BTW, there's multiple sites out there with box calculators that take all of the math out of the box's, and make them really easy to construct.

Why not go with a sealed enclosure? They have a flatter freq response, and with the kind of power you're pushing, it would still get hellaciously loud. They are also much easier to build than ported boxes.
