I am looking into upgrading my w6 to a w7, but i was looking at the JL website and noticed that it has a 3 ohm voicecoil. What are the wiring options for the W7, and what are some amps that would be a good choice to power it

Single 3 on all sizes except the 13.5'', which is Dual 1.5... no options.

1.5 and if you can find one... ...6ohm amp? iono, just do the usual equation sqrt(rms*ohm) for the sub. How do you know if an amp will run at 3 ohms, or 1.5, whatever i will need? I was looking at the orion 1200d and it says it will run at 4, 2, and 1 ohm

pg xenon 1200.1. would run the w7 with ease. can handle 1-4 ohms

If you dont like referbs, then a new one is around 350 on ebay.

How do you know how much power an amp will give at 3ohms if all you have to go by is the rating at 2ohms and 4ohms? Say if the amp puts out 700rms@4ohms and 1000rms@2ohms would a good guess be 850@3ohms?

same with the xenon. except it will run anything from 1-4 ohms with 1200 watts.
