How would a JBL 1200.1 amp sound with a 12w7?? the JBL is rated at 1200 watts @ 2 ohms and 600 watts @ 4 ohms. Would it be getting 800 watts @ 3 ohms (12w7 is 3 ohms)??? How would it sound?? What other amp would you recommend that can be purchased for under $350

Aren't the w7's DUAL 3 ohm?? If so wire it down to 1.5 ohms and you'll get a tad over 1200 watts...the 1200.1's are RATED at 1200 but they were actually tested at around 1300 or so.... and they're regulated to do the same power anywhere from 1 to 2 ohms..

IMO though....there's a LOT of better subs out there for half the price of a w7....a DD 9515 for instance...but that's your choice...

As far as other amps...the 1200.1 is pretty much the best bang for the buck right now...and they're far less than 350...so I say go for it...might also want to check into the new RE amps though....1500 watts for $285 I think....

You could probably find a slightly used D2 for around $350....them are probably the best amps out there in terms of raw power...although not as clean and efficient....they're loud as hell though....

I will probably go with the JBL 1200.1 then. I just want the best subs i can buy with around $500. If you think there are subs that are just as good and are half the price...let me know what they are and I will purchase 2 and it should blow away the 12w7.

only the 13.5 are dual 1.5 ohms the rest are single 3 ohms

First off....why be careful buying a sub that's been proven over and over again in competition (DD)???

Shockers also hold the most world records right now out of any other subs....

So you can't go wrong with either...

JBL 1200.1's are all over the internet for under $300 shipped

How much is a 15" Brahma going for now? I would put my money on a DD 9515 over a Brahma if they're around the same price

under 600!!!??? i can get 2 for that. I just ordered my JBL 1200.1 at BSless.com for $280 including shipping and taxes....GREAT DEAL. the 15" brahmas go for around 420 i believe.

where can you buy the DD9515's???? is there a back order?? if there is no back order i might go with them.

Ohh.. I'd take that bet... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

SPL numbers don't tell a person how things sound... The 9515 is just a very heavy midbass driver, most people will not try to argue that point...

Down low, the brahma will slaughter it...
