Is there any kicker or mtx amp at circuit city that would work for my 12w7. i want something that will power it enough not just a little bit. I have a friend who works there and can get me a discount. any help would be great..

no way dude that speaker is too powerful for any ever made!!!

plug it into your wall socket or throw some chicken on it to get it going hard.

Uhm, you could find an amp to match it, but you'd have to be wary of the ohm load. JL's have differently made resistances, usually kind of hard to match. At least for me. You'd probably be better off finding an amp off the internet, even after your friend's discount you could probably find a better deal online.

yeah your best bet is a 1000/1. jl makes their subs so complicated so that it is easier to just use a jl amp

if you have to go with a kicker line maybe a zx1500....... once again as KickerSoItBump stated you could find one online that would probly work better for cheaper

Phoenix Gold Xenon X1200.1...does the same thing as a JL amp, but's stable all the way to 1ohm.

I would go with the ones stated above.. PDX1.1000 or the 1000/1

Everyones so off topic... I'm using a 81000D it's similar to the 1501D. Either is fine. Don't go by JL's enclosure recommendations also bigger ported is better. I'm using a 2.8cubed 35hz ported box and I think I SHAT myself listening to the lows i'm now getting from the sub. And now it's even handling all the amp has to give as it didn't before in the H.O. box it came in.

not always the case.....and no company that recommends an enclosure is always the best. Remember that diff enclosures meet the needs of different ppl. Thers not a 1 set build that is perfect for everyone

no neither the 8, 10,12, or 13 can

the 8,10,12 are all SVC 3

and the 13w7 is DVC 1.5
