Would it be safe to run two of these subs off a Hifonics 1206d with gains set @ 1000rms? They are rated at 300rms. I've never used JL products so I'm not sure if they will take a little more than rated power.

That's a big negative. They can take a little more than their recomended rating but I wouldn't go that much. 500 a piece is too much for a 12W3v3. Even the 13W3v3 rated at 400, putting 500 to it would be pushing it to the max and while it would take it, longevity may come into issue depending on how hard you're beating it.

I'd look into a couple of 13W6's. They can handle 500-600 comfortably being pounded on a regular bassis. Or a single W7 or IDMax.
