12w3 poppy noise when turn up gain

take the sub out of the box, and hook it up to a 9v battery, one voice coil at a time. if it moves fine, your subs fine, and your amp gain is up too high for your box size

use this for gain setting...

Thanks everyone. My amp only goes to 300 watts and I start getting noise well before that. My experienced friend told me I should get a smaller box. But it's not loud enough for me and I don't like hurting the sub my bottoming it out so I'm gonna cut down on the box first. I don't mind redoing it, I'm all about cleanliness and not doing things the easy way

it wont get any louder if you put it in a smaller box. i suggest you get a 2nd sub, a different sub, or port it if you want more output

whats the net cubes of your current box, and what version w3 is it. 1, 2, or 3. im assuming its a 12w3v1
