12v power wire doens't have power

Hello all,

First time posting. Just tried to install a stereo, and it didn't work. I hooked up a voltmeter and noticed that my constant power wire (the yellow one) was at 0 volts. The red wire (the one that only has power when the inignition is turned on) does work, however. I was able to connect the red and yellow wires to verify that the stereo does work in this case.

How can I troubleshoot the yellow wire not having power? I tried to look at the fuse box, but I didn't see anything that seemed related to a stereo. Do i need a wiring diagram for the car or something?

The yellow wire and red wire are supposed to be tapped together in your car then. idk

Just find a constant hot on the fuse panel, and then run a wire to your radio....the end.

blown fuse check the underhood box too.

it will be radio or acc probably

Correct, because it's (supposed to be) always on. Otherwise when you turn the car off you'll lose all your settings.

yellow wire is always dead, car being on doesn't matter.

i think i'm going to check the fuse box again.
