12v power supply for bench testing

I have this battery charger:

Would this be OK for simple testing of head units?

I'm a little worried there may be too much amperage on it for a head unit.

Would that be because the battery would take the bulk of the amperage charging?

No, it would just be a steadier supply voltage. The headunit will only pull a small amount of amps
